The Douay–Rheims Bible (abbreviated as D–R and DV) is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English made by means of members of the English Faculty, Douai, within the service of the Catholic Church. The New Testament portion was once printed in Reims, France, in 1582. This translation was once replaced by means of a revision undertaken by means of bishop Richard Challoner; the New Testament in 1749.
